Adopting Smaller Paws
The matchmaking is the most important part!
We carefully match them to homes for which they are suitable and compatible.
And we work with applicants to assess and match their lifestyle with the right creature.
After an initial interview, adopters must agree to a virtual home check.
An adoption contract will be sent by email, and it must be signed and dated, scanned and returned.
An adoption fee is required. Our adoption fee varies depending on the type of creature.
We do reserve the right to deny an adoption applicant.
Please contact us to let us know what type of creature you are looking to adopt.
We network with lots of other Ontario shelters and may know where your new friend is waiting.
To apply to adopt small paws, please download the application, fill it out and email it back to us.
Or you can use our online form to submit an adoption application.
Shelter animals come from diverse situations and backgrounds.
Often they have lost their home through no fault of their own but due to changes in their previous family's life.
They are not broken or damaged, but just need a home and love.

Presenting Sora!
Sora’s family is moving long distance and, unfortunately, can’t take her along.
This sweet girl is now looking for a new, loving, forever home!
Sora is an amazingly beautiful, 4.5-year-old spayed Lionhead rabbit
She is sweet, inquisitive, and absolutely full of personality
Loves lounging, getting pets, and being admired. She may be a bit shy at first - but she is very loving once she warms up
Sora can be just a little bit sassy—she’ll let you know when she’s not pleased!
Sora’s Ideal Home is one similar to what she enjoys now. She is used to being a free-roaming girl. She is litter trained and does not chew on furniture (as long as she has toys!) Sora is probably best as the only pet. She has lived with cats & dogs but prefers her own space and is a bit intimidated by them.
Sora is good with older kids but thrives in a calm environment where she can approach on her terms
She needs regular brushing—especially her gorgeous mane which requires extra care during shedding season (2x/year)
Sora is a wonderful companion for someone who understands the special needs of rabbits and can provide her with the love, space, and care she deserves.
